Code of conduct

"Quantum Gravity and all of that" seminar series (hereafter "Seminar") is a regular academic event targeting specialists working in theoretical high energy physics and related areas in various universities and research centers around the globe. It is not an education platform and an adequate familiarity with the topic is expected to follow the online meetings. Meetings are organized online using ZOOM platform in a form of seminars. A participation requires a prior registration in order to receive in time ZOOM meeting data.

In general a friendly and encouraging scientific discussion is the spirit of academic events. All meetings are chaired and moderated by the organizers. Participants are asked to keep their microphones muted but may unmute and ask questions at their discretion while respecting the wish of a speaker on when to answer questions. Also a chat can be used to ask question, it is available to all the participants and is monitored. Participants of the meetings are by default banned from sharing their screen. The working language is English and we encourage all the participants to stick to English in their conversations or chats.

If a speaker agrees, a meeting is live streamed and/or recorded. Participants assume the wish of a speaker regarding the live-streaming and/or recording.

We impose zero tolerance to any inadequate behavior, inappropriate verbal or written remarks, aggressive prompts or anything incompatible with the spirit of scientific meetings. We are absolutely intolerant to any kind of discrimination. Participant exhibiting such a behavior will be expelled from an online meeting without extra notifications. Under certain circumstances we can forcefully mute all the participants but the speaker to maintain an order during a meeting. In this case participants will have to explicitly ask to unmute them if they want to ask a question aloud.

Sincerely,
the Organizers
